Description
This i3d set includes two sets of nine identical cubes with geometric patterns that can be arranged in a wide variety of ways encouraging pattern generation and creative thinking. One set of cubes is based on squares. One set of cubes is based on triangles. The two sets were originally intended to be independent of each other but of course may be mixed to create a wider variety of patterns.
This idea was originally inspired by the way that video game sprites were created in the early days of gaming. Cubes were assembled in 8x8 grids or larger to create game images such as Space Invaders characters.
3d printed inserts are included and intended to be printed in a different color from the cube and super glued in place but they are not required. Paint or even fingernail polish may be used instead of the inserts.
Includes an enclosure to keep the cube set together.

Depending on your 3d printer, you may find it necessary to sand the tops of the inserts to remove any raised areas.
