Description
This is a beta version of my adapter which I used to create a horizontal surface on to which I placed a cheap digital calliper with the jaws removed (using cutting wheel (hardened steel).) The holder aligns with the oil ports and held in place with small 7mm magnets glued in place.
There is also Calliper support bracket.
The Barrel Holder (beta) uses m5 round head bolt with wingnut.
How you attach the calliper to the barrel holder may vary, I didnt have carbide drills to drill through the calliper metal so I used some punched hard foam rubber and epoxided it to the underside of the calliper to give a firm attachment but slight yield so it didnt snap off the calliper. The calliper itself is double sided taped to the holder, but will glue at some stage
I made this in 2023 so some of the fine details I cant remember so there might be small changes I did at the time such as drilled a hole deeper for magnets, hence the beta. I am also very much a beginner in design and lathing….
Files designed with Onshape, I sliced with Prusa slicer and printed On Prusa Mk4 and original adapter is still on my Myford and in use.
If the models works can you reply/comment thanks…
