Update 30/06/2025: Image refinements.

Update 4/12/2024: Added two sections for a shorter, broken version of the blade.

I printed these parts using a 0.25mm layer height, using silver silk PLA. I recommend organic supports where needed for the blade and pommel assemblies, and a 10mm brim to ensure good adhesion.

As the dovetail joints have such a low tolerance, please ensure your printer is reasonably calibrated before attempting - I've included a small test piece to ensure you can get a good fit.

The entire sword can be assembled without using any adhesives, but if the sword is intended to be used for anything other than display, I would still recommend the use of dowels and adhesives throughout. Removing the need for adhesives simplifies assembly, allows for breaking down, and removes the risk of nasty cyanoacrylate glue off-gassing.

Two small cylindrical dowels are needed, and can be printed. The longer dowel goes through the crossbar, bridging the base of the blade and handle. The shorter dowel holds the pommel onto the handle.

The primary hole running through the model is not needed for display purposes, but you may wish to add a large wooden or metal rod if you feel it is necessary, or you intended to use this as more of a ‘live’ prop.

I have also modified a wall mounting solution for use with this sword specifically :)

This is a wonderful model, 3Demon did an excellent job, all I've done is made it easier to assemble.
