What could possibly be better than a scratcher with a pivoting head?…a scratcher with 3 pivoting heads, of course! This model is similar to my previous pivoting head design, but 3 times more satisfying.
Design Features:
- Print-in-place (no assembly required for the head).
- No supports required.
The handle is a 3/8” wooden dowel (nominal dowel diameter of 9.525mm). The actual hole diameter is 9.8mm, but the filament bridging across the top of the hole provides a nice friction fit for the dowel to keep it in place.
Required Parts:
- 3/8” diameter wooden dowel of desired length.
Printing Notes:
- Print using PLA at 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle, and 15% infill.
- Supports are not required, but you can add them to the hole opening if needed (depending on your printer and filament).
- Both satin and smooth PEI sheets worked for me (no need for brims or glue).
- Please don’t use the .bgcode file that has been provided (always slice your own files for your specific printer, filament, environment, etc.). The file was included to provide a reference for approximate print time.
Assembly Instructions:
- Push wooden dowel handle into the hole.
- Enjoy!
