Description

This is an ergonomic tray for your legacy Apple Magic Keyboard & Trackpad from 2012.

It replicates the layout of a MacBook Pro 16" from 2021.

I recommend printing it in a single block of PLA plastic. It looks best when printed in white filament (in my opinion). Since the part is quite large, if your 3D printer cannot handle such large prints I suggest that you use the section planes contained in the Fusion 360 file to cut the part in 6 smaller parts. Then, you'll use neoprene glue to put everything together. I however recommend that you print everything as a single part if you can — I've done both and it definitely feels sturdy when printed as a single solid part.

My print settings:

- White PLA filament
- 0.2 layer height
- Infill: 20%
- High quality print settings (if available on your printer)

You can use an online service such as Hubs.com to print this as a single piece of plastic, since they offer large printers. Printing my final tray using Hubs in white PLA costed around 100€ total.
