Abingdon Island Tortoise by Natural History Museum of Vienna

For a long time, the giant tortoises of the Galápagos volcanic islands were seen as one species. Now they are considered to be separate species, most of which were eradicated in historic times. Chelonoidis abingdonii - of which one specimen is shown here - lived on Abingdon Island. This specimen was acquired by the NHM Vienna in 1914.

• Geometry decimated from ~ 200k triangles to ~ 100k
• downsized to 10% of the original size
• object aligned
