UPDATE 11.12.2020:
1/4 scale printed part out of copper filled filament (renkforce)
And
3D printed at real scale in TPU black by external 3d printed company (via treatstock as 3dhubs is not the same as for several years)
The real size was then coated with a spray acrylate silver paint. Then painted bynhand with acrylic based paint to give a more realistic look . ( I can do better but this is good enough)
From this real size one

Printed triangular infill 10% with flow 150% for a extrusion width of 0.6 mm to obtain a strong infill. Skin number 11 ( about 6 mm thick skin) printed sideway.
The back side is not nice, could be ironed tonget smoother.

The blade was not tight enough, i Had to fuse it with a pyrographic pen to the grip.
The part was more firm.
Therefore I will improve the design to make the blade broader/thicker and all will be in one piece to avoid having a too little firm part. And the hole for the chain binding part will be made bigger.

On the last image, one can see my home made kusarigama I made seven years ago: Using beech or ash wood (I cannot recall) tool grip that one can find in some do it garden stores.
Looking that the orientation of the woodrings was right along the grip length. Working the wood to get tge right form. Then bending a brass bar to make thenkusa handle.
The kusa (weighted chain) is mqde of a Polyester cord and a purse made of two fabric layers filled with polyurethane foam pressed to obtain the final form.

My home made possess a slightly longer grip but with a smaller blade length.

I will add that I trained outside with it and people stopped and looked at what I was training with.

The diy wooden part was not so eye catching- This one did raise a lot of interest.

UPDATE 2: new loaded version with a more robust blade and a larger hole ( 6mm was not optimal when printed so I changed for 8 mm) I think my model is as far as I see good enough.
