Description
I printed the original version of this model and I liked it, but I wanted magnets on the bottom to help it stay put in the drawer. While I was at it, I trimmed off the raised sections that would allow more gridfinity bins to be stacked on top, because I don't care about that feature.
Like my other Gridfinity models, the base is altered to accept 6x3 magnets as a press fit, with the upper surface of the magnet holes modified to make the slicer bridge across correctly for a clean result. I simplified the recesses a little more from the original Gridfinity design in hopes of getting better bridging with bigger nozzles and thicker layer height, although if you're printing with larger than a 0.4mm nozzle the fit may still end up a little tight. I have found getting sizing for the magnets to be a best guess proposition due to differences in printers, filament used, print settings, and variation between magnets. YMMV.
The unit in the pictures was printed out of Overture matte blue PLA on my Bear upgraded Mk3S+, using a 0.6mm Revo nozzle at 0.3mm layer height, 2 perimeters, and 15% infill.
