Description
Well, last weekend, I was just sittin' at my desk, writin' some code, when… **BLAM**!! Shot in the arm by my Owala water bottle button.  Now it's frustrating enough that the button just shot off the water bottle, but it took me like 20 minutes to fine the stinking spring…  I finally found it and got if put back together when… you you guest it… It popped right off again. Â
It seems that my button is slightly warped and doesn't sit in the opening very well. Sadly, I've only had this thing for like 2 months and don't think I can return in :-(
Maybe others have had the same problem???
Soooo, this is a replacement open button for an Owala FreeSip water bottle. Â Mine is the 24oz version, but I'm assuming that this will work for the other sizes as well.
This is an oddly specific part that has some specific tolerances, so you may need to slightly vary the size depending on your printer. Â
Also, I recommend printing this part on it side with organic supports (see image above).  By printing the button in this orientation you'll maximize the strength where the part really needs it.  Of course, you can try to print in other orientations, but I'm not sure how long the part will last (or how well it will look)…  Now, to be honest, I just put mine on today… soooooo…. I'm not really sure how long mine will last either… #fingerscrossed!!!  I'll update in a moth to let anyone interested if it's still working.
Not the most elegant model I've ever created. Â Was kind of quick 'n dirty. Â But if fit pretty nicely for me.
Don't forget to use Prusa Slicer to add you initials or other custom personalization's to the front of the button for fun!
