Prusament spool strut

It's fascinating how sometimes simple things make life easier. On one project, I needed to transfer filament from a larger spool to an empty Prusament spool. Once I had the Prusament spool almost full, it nearly fell apart. I clamped the two sides together with the help of a simple tool and wanted to start printing. After about two hours, however, the printing process stopped because the filament had become tangled when the side parts came apart I reclamped them.

To avoid this in future, I designed these simple connecting struts. They are actually nothing special, but if you have them, you'll be glad you did. In principle, they can be printed with any material and in any layer height. There are M3 heat-set inserts on the ends so that you can remove the braces at any time and use them for other spools.

There are two variants of the struts. One with 'Ruthex' in the name has a hole for Ruthex M3x5.7 heat-set inserts, the other with 'Voron' in the name for Voron typical M3x5x4 heat-set inserts.

Es ist faszinierend, wie manchmal einfache Dinge das Leben erleichtern. Bei einem Projekt wollte ich Filament von einer größeren Spule auf eine leere Prusament-Spule übertragen. Nachdem ich die Prusament-Spule fast voll hatte, fiel sie mir beinahe auseinander. Mit einem einfachen Hilfsmittel klemmte ich die beiden Seitenteile zusammen und wollte mit dem Drucken beginnen. Nach etwa zwei Stunden brach der Druckvorgang jedoch ab, da sich das Filament beim Lösen und erneuten Zusammenstecken der Seitenteile verheddert hatte.

Um genau das in Zukunft zu vermeiden, habe ich diese einfachen Verbindungsstreben entworfen. Sie sind eigentlich nichts Besonderes, aber wenn man sie hat, ist man froh darüber. Sie können im Prinzip mit jedem Material und in jeder Schichtstärke gedruckt werden. An den Stirnseiten befinden sich M3-Schmelzgewinde (Heat-Set Inserts), so dass man die Streben jederzeit wieder entfernen und für andere Spulen verwenden kann.

Es gibt zwei Varianten der Streben. Eine mit dem Bezeichnung 'Ruthex' im Namen hat ein Loch für Ruthex M3x5.7 Einschmelzgewinde, die andere mit der Bezeichnung 'Voron' im Namen ist für Voron typische M3x5x4 Einschmelzgewinde.
