Description
808 Thump, a small cylindrical Bluetooth speaker that I've been using for a decade, great bass, wonderful tone, love it! But its hard to carry sometimes. for years I've had a bail made of baling wire electrical taped to it so I can hang it from my tool belts, and bags. I love just having it playing while hanging from my belt at work… No worry of ever walking out of range!
That worked, but was annoying to bend to fold, for sitting it upright, putting into bags, etc. This is much more elegant, and easy to use!
The Thump is slightly tapered, this is set with a press fit, from the top, it goes down about ¾ of the height. No adheasive needed.
Side peg holes are tapped to #6-32, but a similar metric should self tap fine. Slight supports are needed, obviously under those side pegs. Otherwise print as you like… I use 0.8 inner walls, 0.4 outer, 0.4 everything else, 0.3 layers, but 0.6 infill layers, and about 8% gyroid. PLA of choice, My standard fast and smooth profile.
The odds of anyone else needing this are very slim, but its possible so I'll upload it. :-)
It also could be scaled to a lot of other cylindrical items, I'm sure.
Any interest, I can clean up the OpenSCAD code and post.. It is generally parametric. Comment and Let me know.
