Description
I like Exerqtor's concept, but I wanted a simplified version. The functional changes are to not use the UM2 style connector and instead have an opening that has a 50 mm radius to avoid pinching the tube, and no bearing.
Note that the guide arm is installed on top of the support/pivot. This reduces the amount of support required to print the support/pivot and the top face is smoother. Use a M5 button head screw to secure the arm with a lock nut on the bottom and washers between everything.
Update - the original guide arm holds the PTFE tube too low, so I designed a modified guide arm that holds the tube higher.
I printed it with organic supports from the build plate only.
After installing the piece and reworking my PTFE tube I am really happy with it. The UM2 connector causes the tube to get pinched when bent to the side, while this design guides the tube to avoid pinching it.
