Description
A friend has an RV and broke his cover plate on his Monaco Generator and ask that I make a replacement. I am not sure what demand this may have but I thought I would share. I made the emblem alone (in three different colors) and incorporated into a plate. He wanted “chrome” but I could not do that so I used silk PLA - silver, gold and copper. Printing very slow helps make it shinny, but no where close to chrome. If he really wanted chrome, I suggested he paint it with chrome model paint.
I started with a circular print but he meant to say oval - 4.5 v 6 inches. You can make it circular, if you like, by adjusting in the slicer.
I used 0.16mm layer height and 100% infill. Additionally, the print speed for surface should be slowed to 30mm/s to try to make it shinny.
I included 3mf files. The embedded emblem is slightly higher than the face of the plate. Hopefully this makes it easier for dual colors if you do not have a multi-filament printer.
