Description
Hi,
I was in need of a fork for an upcoming project of mine. The few fork models here on printables did not find my liking so I made my own. It is a remake of one of my real world forks. I used Fusion 360 an two photos to recreate it as a 3d model.
my print settings:
- filament = FormFutura PearlGold Easyfil ePLA
- 0,15 mm layer height @ 0,4 nozzle
- infill: no, just 4 walls in total
- supports: yes
- print orientation as in the picture
With my print orientation the removal of the supports was a bit cumbersome, but it was manageable. The printed fork is not suitable for eating with it. It is just not stable enough.
Included is also a flat printable version. Printing it flat, heating it a bit and then bending it might save a lot of work and will probably make it a bit stronger.
Update 31.10.2024
A small note: I recommend printing the flat version and bending it. I tested it and this way gives a much easier and cleaner print. I just put it in hot (close to boiling) water for a few seconds and then put it between two forks as a bending form. It works quite good this way.
Happy printing!
