Lion Bust Door-Knocker
3 Piece Design Drawer Pulls
By: David Orlo
Design Details:
I originally designed this for a couple of drawers to use as fun drawer knobs, with the idea that I could pay a little extra to have them printed in metal if I really loved them.
I experimented with various settings and options: without the backing plate, different 3D heights for the model, different printer profiles, and several lion designs, including custom-made lions by myself. The combination I uploaded was the clear winner in all tests, according to my panel of space cats.
- The idea was to purchase the ring for the lion's mouth from eBay or Amazon. I found them in various sizes from various sellers—they weren't hard to find. I was particularly interested in rings with a cut so they could be pulled apart and put back together, usually made from a softer metal like brass.

Tips
- The 'PayPal.me' thing has never worked for me, so in place of that, I have uploaded 3D models ranging in value, available for individual purchase on my Patreon Page.
- I appreciate any signs of gratitude, and I thought it would be cooler if you got something too!
Highly Recommended:
- Try the 'fuzzy print' mode in your slicer
- I used OrcaSlicer on the lion bust for a warm, soft, fuzzy feel while printing the backing plate normally.
OrcaSlicer Settings for Fuzzy Print:
- Mode: Contour
- Point Distance: 0.3
- Thickness: 0.1
Print Recommendations
- Layer Height: .2
