Wireless Charging Shelf v2.0 (For Max/Plus iPhones)

Description
Tired of emptying your pockets onto a cluttered bedside table every night? Sick of clawing the carpet searching for your phone cable in the dark? This wireless charging equipped catch-all shelf can be mounted right above an outlet for a convenient, low-profile way to keep your phone charged and your belongings organized. Version 2 of my catch-all shelf has undergone a considerable reduction in size and can now be printed on a Prusa Mk3 or Mk4. And just like the original, v2.0 can be effortlessly and semi-permanently mounted using two Command strips. Mount your catch-all shelf for as long as you like, then remove it at any time without damaging your wall.
Printing Tips:
- The shelf can be printed using basically default print settings. I would recommend using a support enforcer to fill the cavity in the base of the shelf. Feel free to create your own support enforcer, but an even easier option is importing the premade support enforcer I provided in the download files. After importing the shelf into the slicer, right-click the shelf, hover your mouse over “Add support enforcer”, and click “Load…”. Now, just navigate to your downloads folder and add “Shelf Support Enforcer.stl”. Make sure your supports are set to “For support enforcers only” and I would recommend against using organic supports. Now you're ready to print!
- The Shelf Mount and MagSafe Cover are super simple. They can be printed using default print settings with no supports.
Mounting Instructions:
- Feed the cable of the MagSafe charger through the hole in the top of the shelf and out the back.
- Put the MagSafe charger in its place and cover it with the MagSafe cover. Add some glue to seal this compartment once you've made sure the charger is working properly.
- Feed a few inches of the cable out through the hole in the bottom of the shelf, then coil the excess cable length and push it into the void in the shelf.
- Place a Command strip on either end of the shelf mount with their pull tabs hanging off the sides (this is essential for easy, damage-free removal in the future).
- Now peel the backs off of the Command strips and press the shelf mount into position above a power outlet. The easiest way to do this is by temporarily sliding the shelf mount into position in the back cavity of the shelf. Hold it in place with a small piece of Scotch tape. Now you can press the entire shelf into place on the wall, making sure the shelf is level, center, and properly spaced above the outlet. After giving the shelf a firm press, lift it up to remove it from the shelf mount and press the mount firmly against the wall for 30 seconds to ensure a secure bond.
- Lastly, slide the shelf back into place over the shelf mount and plug the charging cable in with a wall adaptor.
YOU'RE DONE!
If you print this shelf, I'd love to see how it turns out!
