Description

Razor sword I designed based off Red Rising Books and Comics. Made October 2024 for Halloween costume.

Cool thing with this design is there is a slider button on the shaft that you can pull down to make the sword ridged or let loose into its whip form.

I also made the Ares Mask!

https://www.printables.com/model/1058923-red-rising-sons-of-ares-mask-original-from-comics

How it works:

There is a string that goes down the length of the blade, one side is attached to the tip, one side attached to a button that can slide up and down the handle. When the button is pressed in teeth on the inside of the shaft disengage. You can slide the button downward and that tightens the string pulling the sword into its ridged state. Then releasing the button engages teeth again holding its position.

Printing Links:

The “Links” part and the “End link” can be printed laying down but add a support blocker for the holes or you will have a bad time getting the support out and it will be rough inside. The “Link Cover” should be printed UPRIGHT so the part is strong and wont just snap when trying to click the parts together.

Also the links and Link Covers snap together, I printed in PLA, you need something flexible enough not to snap.

I used 20 links plus the end one to make mine, if you use more then handle will not be long enough. Might even be better to use less.

If you make one post a picture! I'd like to see!
