Description
Was wanting to starting knitting projects that required decreases and kept running into issues on the standard loom. There are available products that do this on the market, but I wanted something I could easily scale and add/replace links as needed.
After making a few hats with my new loom I got on a design kick and decided to invent an integrated row counter into one of my links as well. The dials press fit into the slots and indexed to each numbered position!
If printing PLA use at least 3 walls. I also like to use cubic infill around 25%. This makes a near bomb-proof print that I haven't been able to snap so far.
I've only printed and tested the regular and small sizes so far. The XL files are mostly just scaled from the regular size with some minor tweaks to ensure the gauge is correct.
For the counter link. The tolerances are very tight to ensure the pawl works. installing the dials requires a lot of pressure, but once they are in place they should fall into their respective grooves. When turning the dials, make sure both dials are on the correct position before trying to move one. They can’t move together otherwise they lock up.
