Kitchen Dock 2.0
This is a basic kitchen dock for a few simple tools to be kept at the corner of the sink.
It has a spot for a sponge, a vegetable brush, and a pot scraper (like the one I modeled here). All three are suspended by a grating above a sloped base to drain excess water into the sink below. The grating can slide in and out for easy cleaning.
Â
This is the updated version of my last model. This version better holds up the grate to keep it from sinking from the weight of the brush over time. It also keeps the grate from sliding out too easily. See below for the way I found best to print it. The print is not difficult, but there are a few settings that need changing. Gcode attached at .15mm layer height PLA for all pieces.
Dock:
The dock should be printed in two parts sliced horizontally (screenshots above). I slice it in Prusa Slicer just below where the overhang starts. Supports on the top half are fairly easy to remove - from the suggestion of Maker's Muse, I use Organic supports (tree supports) as the Style with the Pattern being Rectilinear Grid. This helps make the supports more removable later. Any scarring won't show in the end product anyway. The bottom half won't need any supports.
I add Plug Connectors in just a couple key areas so when I glue the two pieces together later, it's easier to line them up. I've found basic super glue works just fine, but it does dry fast.

Grate:
The grate was modeled as a solid piece, so just a few settings need to be changed in Prusa Slicer. First, it needs to be flipped over and printed upside down so the notch can be printed well. Top and Bottom Solid Layers both need to be set to 0. I used at least three perimeters and set the infill to 15% Grid (final sliced screenshot attached).
