The button on my Solo 2 vaporizer broke and I didn't want to spend $170 for a new one because of a few cents worth of plastic. It took me longer than I care to say to realize how the device is assembled, but once I did the design itself was pretty easy. Here's what you'll need to replace yours if it breaks, too.
a .2mm nozzle (this is a very small part with low tolerances)
a well calibrated printer (see above; I printed mine on a Bambu P1S)
possibly a T5 screwdriver, black permanent marker or paint pen, and a razor or scraper.
Print Recommendations
I used ASA, ABS or PETG should be fine, PLA maybe would work but I'd be concerned about the part breaking (again)
Increase wall loops to make the part solid
Use regular, not tree supports
Print Outer.stl with the round button face down, so the parts that interface with he controls are pointed up and print as accurately and strongly as possible
Print Inner.stl with the exterior button face upwards
Use very fine layers; I did .06mm. The parts are small, it's pretty fast even at that resolution
Replacement Process
Remove the broken button; this is where you might need the T5 driver. If you can't remove the button from the front, follow this video to disassemble the unit and then remove the button. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXALDaHvmX8
Remove the plastic cover that goes over the screen and button area, which you can do by using something small to carefully pry it up from underneath the now empty button hole. Alternately, if you had to remove the internals of the vaporizer you can reach your finger inside and pop it out. Then carefully remove the adhesive from the aluminum body and the back of the plastic film. If you scratch the black screen printing on the plastic panel color it back in with the marker. This picture shows the panel I'm referring to (and one of the test prints).
Cut pieces of the tape to fit everywhere around the screen and buttons, and drop in the two button parts, aligning the two tabs top and bottom, then reinstall the outer cover panel. I advise cleaning the backside of the plastic cover and the LCD screen with a Q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol before adhering it back on the device.
I made the inner and outer parts with almost zero tolerance between them so it wouldn't feel sloppy after assembly, but that also means that it “sticks” a little bit when you press it, but this went away after pressing the buttons a handful of times. I've included the Fusion file so you can tweak the sizing a bit, if needed.
