Description
I was concerned about heat for this Sovol SH02 dryer at the hottest temperature so I made a riser. I kept it open as I wanted airflow underneath. It simply inserts over the existing feet (with decent tolerance so you won't have to worry) and you can add some rubber feet to the bottom (or transfer the existing feet).
I also did an electronics mod to maker the SH02 quieter. The existing fan speed is reduced down to 85% with a very positive reduction in volume. It also only has a minor impact on heat up times. I created a 3-pin JST-XH extension cable to add a 47 Ohm 10 watt wire wound resistor into the positive (red) line of the fan. This to dropped the fan speed to ~85% with a very positive effect on volume! Parts: JST-XH extension, 47R resistor and I prefer to use BHT0.5 connectors for safety instead of soldering along with plenty of heat shrink!
If you are playing with the fan speed, then I would highly recommend using the feet in this modification to improve safety. Any electronics are also modified at your own risk. Make sure to unplug due to presence of high voltage.
Printed in ABS at 20% gyroid infill. No supports required. This should be an easy print for most people. It has decent tolerance for print size, but if you're worried you could print the first layer to test against your machine.
It is a loose fit as to make it a really easy print. A couple of pieces of thin double sided tape ensure it stays in place when it is moved.
Tip: This filament entry angle change is also an essential mod for easily printing from the SH02
