Description
Here are a pair of Gridfinity trays for storage of cleco clamps, as used in aircraft sheet metal construction and repair, and other uses. One of the trays holds five of the 1" clamps, and the other holds ten of the ½" clamps. See also, my Gridfinity trays for standard type cylindrical spring clecos, designed for fast printing in vase mode.
The design of the tray for the 1" clamps was fairly straightforward, but I went through a couple of revisions before I got something I was happy with for the ½" clamps. The former will print fine with larger nozzles, but I recommend printing the latter with no larger than a 0.4mm nozzle due to the thin walls where the recesses are close to each other and the exterior sides. This means that it will take a little longer to print than the tray for 1" clamps, but that was the price of packing 10 of them into the same space that can only hold 5 of the larger clamps. So it is well worth the extra print time.
Like my other Gridfinity models, the bases are altered to accept 6x3 magnets as a press fit, with the upper surface of the magnet holes modified to make the slicer bridge across correctly for a clean result. The trays for 1" clamps shown were printed out of Polymaker red ABS on my Voron 2.4 using a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.3mm layer height, while the tray for the ½" clamps was printed out of Overture matte green PLA on a Bear upgraded Mk3S+ using a 0.4mm nozzle.
