Newly Updated**

I took the amazing Ender 3 V3 KE Filament Sensor Mount provided by Flobi, and a remixed version from Efe Balum, for my purpose built custom 3d printer enclosure.

I happened to have a need to not have the spool located on top of the ender 3, (relocated to a above shelf and below compartment if the 3d printer enclosures cabinet, where both are fed in from the left to the 3d printer, versus a straight shot down vertically.

I have included 6 variations: (Updated 11/16/2024)

In the original Flobi was kind enough to provide the “base” (that holds the sensor) and Efe was kind enough to provide 2 different “heads” that allows PTFE tube connection or Push in/ through hole that might work also with PTFE tube. I opted to test and use with the PTFE tube connection, but keep in mind you will need a threaded PTFE tube connector if you use that head like I do.

My remixes include 3 newer bodies

  • A short vertical, on extruder mount, that is as short as I could make it, with the ability to attach a head to it from the original remix from Efe.
    • I also included a version with the PTFE connector tube head, already attached, so it could be printed in 1 go of it.
  • A 90 degree left angled, on extruder mount, that is short, and takes a sensor / filament from the left versus vertically.
    • I also included a version with the PTFE connector tube head, already attached, so it could be printed in 1 go of it.
  • NEW**
    • A 45 degree left angled, on extruder mount, that is short, and takes a sensor / filament from the left versus vertically (my specific use case).
      • Has its own curved printed pipe to redirect filament to extruder
      • I also included a version with the PTFE connector tube head, already attached, so it could be printed in 1 go of it.

I hope this is helpful, and leave me a comment about your thoughts!

  • Chris
