Description
BACKGROUND
My son started making plastic model kits and it turned out, some nice, quite mobile and configurable toolbox to store all needed stuff, would be nice to have. I sat down, started CAD software and...
There you go! Fully configurable, Modeller's Compact Toolbox.
Why configurable? There are different needs, different kits, different paints, so making separate toolbox for each one of them didn't make sense. Instead there is one compact toolbox you can configure to current needs, so when you need to move it, or clean up your working area, this one does it. When your needs will change, you will just print parts for different configuration, attach them and you are ready to go.
CONTENT
Kit contains of 15 parts:
- Main frame
- Main frame with openings for screws if you would like to attach toolbox firmly
- Hanger for brushes etc. with two inserts for different diameters of tools
- Bottle holder for thinner bottle etc. Supports bottles up to 50 mm diameter
- Insert for bottle holder, when you want to store different tools there, instead of actual bottle
- Brush stand
- Small shelfes on side
- Five different trays for central part. Upper and lower for enamel paints, lower with 35mm square openings, and both trays in empty version which you can use as they are, or add your own geometry inside
- I provide also side mount without any additional shape, so you can add any geometry that you want, attach it to side mount, and you will be able to connect it with main frame.
Some models are side-dependent. You will recognize them by L or R in file name (left/right side), but you can easily mirror them in slicer to get part for other side, if you want.
PRINTING INFO
All models printed with Ender 3, so virtually any printer can handle them.
All models provided in printing orientation. Most of them do not require any support, but if needed, I recommend tree support or similar.
I advise printing with materials capable of elastic deformation, like PETG, PCTG, ABS etc. because of some element (hanger inserts) working with click-action. Also infill of 30% or higher is recommended.
Have fun!
