Description
Hello!
Here is a remix of the Voron Trident Auxiliary Fan made by @JacobG3231_143196, making it compatible with the RatRig VCore 4.
Please refer to his model for the BOM and assembly instructions. The extra parts required for this remix are 4xM3 3030 t-nuts for mounting the upper duct to the Y extrusion, extra heat inserts and M3x6 bolts for attaching the different duct extensions toghether and 4xM3X10 and M3 nuts for attaching the fan cases to the lower mounts.
The lower mounts is attached using the stock M6 bolts that mount the bottom panel to the extrusion, the washer has to be removed. They are also printer size specific (for the left side there is a different mount based on if you have the new or old revision bottom panels) and requires for the stock RatRig spoolholder to be removed.
Mounting the fan at the bottom of the printer helps with having a more even temperature inside the chamber (setting it to 10-20% during printing) , especially when printing filaments that require a higher than ambient temp.
As a replacement for the stock spoolholder, I recommend using https://www.printables.com/model/1035656-spoolroller-made-of-v-slot-wheels as it can be placed anywhere at the bottom of the printer and is held in place with magnets.
NOTE: the 400 and 500 versions, normal and IDEX (300 IDEX as well) have not been tested as I only have the 300 Hybrid (which I have been using for quite a while now and is working as intended).
If you enjoy my designs and want to support me, you can buy me a coffee here.
