Dyson 40mm to Small Brush adaptor (UP32 etc)

Fits machines that use the approx 40mm outside diameter button clip fittings (UP22, UP24, UP32 and UP34 models, for example). Check your machine before printing.

It has been successfully tested on my UP32 machine, and works perfectly.

Waffle:

A few days ago I posted an adaptor to connect my beloved Dyson dusting brush to my new machine https://www.printables.com/model/1071879-dyson-40mm-to-older-accessories-adaptor-up32-etc

But I also use my Dyson small brush an awful lot too. This uses yet another type of connector (which reinforces what I said in the description of the previous design!). Surprise, surprise, this one isn't compatible with my new machine either!

Fortunately I'd cunningly designed the previous adaptor in a modular form. So it was barely an inconvenience to design and add a further module that I could combine with one from the earlier design.

As mentioned in the description of my other adaptor, I'm completely new to FreeCad. So I've almost certainly made some rookie errors that will have experienced FreeCADders laughing their socks off.

But, once again, this design prints and works fine - it was tested on my UP32 Ball Animal machine - and, really, that's all it has to do.

One of my grumbles was that Dyson's latest connection system prevents the tools from being rotated on the hose (or the wand). Fortunately the clip shape of this particular Dyson fitting means that the brush head can be removed and rotated 180 degrees. It's still not the full rotational freedom that I'd have wanted, but it will come in useful on the wand, where reversal is sometimes essential. I'd like to think I planned it that way, but I didn't!  

Printing:

Like my other design, I did this in 0.28 Extra Draft, using BambuLabs PETG HF. I intended to use custom supports. But I forgot, and accidentally went with the defaults set by my Bambu Studio slicer. I didn't realise till after I printed it, but it created an unwanted support trapped inside the lower clip of the design. Fortunately I was able to remove the top part using tweezers, and the rest of it doesn't seem to impede the function of the clip in any way.  So I just left the rest in there!

Assembly:
Same as my other adaptor, there isn't any! Take it off the build plate, remove the supports, and you're good to go.

 

So far as I can see, the two adaptors I've created are the only ones I need for now. But the modules I've created in the process will come in handy if I ever need to create another type.
