TS-Optics / GSO 2" Monorail Focuser ZWO EAF

So, stock TS-Optics (GSO) monorail focuser has plastic body with those stupid curves and 0 extra holes. I didn't want to remake the whole part, so i came up with this.

Print this part, add two M4 threaded inserts and sandwich it on top of stock body. Maybe also do a PTFE mod while you are at it. Screw the sandwich down with M3 bolts. Watch out for the M3 bolts length, they should be long enough but shouldn't touch the inner tube :)

You'll also need a slightly longer M4 bolt for tension adjustment. It just goes through the whole sandwich .

That's it, now you have a flat surface with two extra holes, so you can mount your EAF with the stock mounting bracket (you'll need to adjust it as shown in the first photo). The contraption bolts directly to a metal, the OG focuser plastic is reinforced instead of being overloaded.

Note: GSO focuser shaft has a stupid diameter of ~4.15 mm so stock EAF coupler will not fit. I turned it into 4.5mm and it works fairly well.

v2: added a steps to better fit standart ZWO EAF bracket “rail”. It also fits M4x8mm threaded inserts. You'll need supports to print it. This version has more mating surfaces and should be far more rigid (and you won't risk pulling your threaded inserts ouf ot the print).

P.S. there are extra holes on the photo. I removed them from the final model.
