Sivartha Chart of the Hand light box

You know what? I have been sitting on this model long enough. 

I have been doing this time to time for over two years now. I was thinking putting colored lights to the larger model, that I was able to make after getting bigger printer that was able to do multicolor print easily, and release the model after that, but to heck with it, I give you this now. Just try to image multicolor lights to the larger model.

There's smaller and larger hand. Larger has multicolor print for the text part so it's flat and the smaller one has layer change color change, but there's also all kind of files there and after all this time I'm not quite sure anymore what is what. Sorry. 

NOTE: This has so incredible amout of details that with a smaller printer like my MK3 I was only able to make this with 0.2mm nozzle, larger than that and the texts are pretty much unreadable. My old laptop was also struggling really badly with slicing the files, I think it took something like over half an hour to slice the part when I was doing this. So I saved g-codes, that are really old now, and I would make new ones if I was you. But I put them here mostly for reference.

I like gluing stuff, so this is assembled gluing, sorry to those who hate that.

I have a crapload of these files for this project, and I think everything important is here now, but if you seek something, ask, I have the full project on my files, I just didn't think everything is relevant to the released model.

As for the model, I happened to come by the drawing I have included here too, and like it veryveryveryveryvery much and I knew I want to make light box out of it. It took weeks (because you just can't do that too long at one sitting) to edit the model to be printable, I cleaned it, made some texts larger, positioned them a bit better and so on, until I have something clean enough to vectorise and start making my model. I think I did change it a bit for the larger model, but nothing too drastic. 

For printing this: the box parts I have just made by giving them enough bottom layers, enough perimeters and then 0 top and 0% infill. I just like it that way, and since this is my model… Bigger hand in bigger printers can be printed with 0.4mm nozzle, but the smaller one with smaller printers, like Prusa MK3 needs a smaller nozzle, like 0.2mm.

I am so sorry for the mess in the model file part, I really donẗ know myself anymore what file is what, but I have been trying to make some guesses. 

I have put there pics of how I glued light inside! The small white things I used are just paper strips I cut from copy paper. Oh, and the keyhole for hanging it, it's not mine, I just searched and printed and glued and then cut the back of the model open so that piece is no hangable.. Sorry, can't remember anymore what that model was. Fairy lights are from my junk drawer, don't know when or where they are from. I drilled a hole for the wire. My hubby detached and soldered back the wires.

This isn't so hard to make, printer will make the heaviest part, then just some gluing. And again, if you wish to edit parts and need some project files, just ask and I'll add here if I have something suitable! Happy printing! <3

EDIT: I wanted to add about printing this thing. Printing texts flat with multicolor print is easiest if you print the box face down with the texts on the bed and the empty box following, enough bottom layers to have the text there and maybe a layer ontop of the texts, like I have in one picture, and then a flat back cover for the box, but the layer color cahnge thing you need to print front cover flat with texts ontop of the front cover facing up and then the box part empty to clue to that front cover with texts. So you never need any supports. And one thing I learned, make sure your filament for texts is very dry before printing and behaves nicely, no too much stringing, this has so much little things that the stringing would be horrifying with bad filament.
