Description
I made this because I needed some film canisters to ship my rolls of film off to be developed and I don't like small caps for film canisters as I tend to lose them. So I modeled this canister up with a split cylinder design.
This model is fully printable without supports in the orientations provided. Yes there are some steep overhangs in a couple spots but those are the engagement surfaces so roughness there gives them more bite with each other.
The tolerances are pretty tight (0.1mm horizontally) for the canister parts, if you're unsure if they'll clear each other there's a provided test print which is a shorter version of the tube (20mm internal height) with the same geometry for the engagement surfaces.
If you need a different size for other medium format film (like 220 film) I'll just need the dims of the spool size to add versions for those as well.
Also included is a tube for unopened rolls of 120 film (sorry none for 116, don't have any on hand) so if you wanted to take the film out of the box and put it in a tube while still in the foil you can do that as well.
