Description
The batteries for the PowerBook 500 series are, at this point, over 25 years old and starting to leak. Fortunately, the outer cosmetic covers are designed to be separated from the battery pack. Unfortunately, though, they won't stay on the computer on their own. Having discarded a few PB 500 batteries myself and tired of looking at empty bays, I designed this model.
It's intended to be a blank for attaching the outer covers to so the computer can look cosmetically "complete". If you're ambitious enough, you could however remix this model into an enclosure for a replacement DIY battery pack.
If you're able, try to print the piece standing up on its flat end (where the battery contacts would normally be) -- this will eliminate the need for supports.
