Description
This tape dispenser is inspired by the horizontal tape dispenser. I redesigned it in OpenSCAD, with various changes to make it suitable for wall-mount use.
In particular, this design is for tapes with a core size of 50 mm or 76 mm, and a width of 6 mm, 9 mm or 12 mm. The photograph shows the variant with 76 mm core and 6 mm wide tape. The metal cut blade came from a broken dispenser.
The dispenser has two keyhole slots at the back. These fit on pegs that you would screw into a wall. The pegs (and keyhole slots) in the default designs are for screws with a 3 mm diameter.
The STL files are split into folders for three variants of this dispenser, but the pegs are in the root folder (because these are the same for all variants). For further customisation, use the OpenSCAD customizer. The OpenSCAD source requires that the threadlib library is installed.
Update 28 december 2024: An error was fixed in the OpenSCAD source; it caused the slot for the cut blade to be less deep than instructed, especially with narrow tapes. The tape guide was improved, and split into two parts: the main guide (integrated on the base) and a cap.
