Description

In short, this is a model I created in order to fix the sagging seating of PELLO Ikea seats.

This is made to be used with Ikea LUROY bed slats, that you will need to cut down to the right length by dry fitting the printed models on each of the sides.

A bit more details:

The PELLO seats are IMO badly designed, with the seating area relying on a plastic fabric that can get damaged over time (the seams broke on mine).

In order to fix that I wanted to add a solid bottom to those instead, so I created those adapters that allow using bed slats by clamping on the metal tubes of the Ikea PELLO seat.

Each slat needs 4 prints of the same model, and you can chose to use 3 or 4 slats for example.

I recommend using a lot of walls in the print settings to ensure that this is strong enough, 5 would be the minimum IMO. More walls means of course that it gets more costly and time consuming to print, but this way you avoid getting bad surprises.

🔩 Hardware needed:

  • Bed Slats
  • M3x10 or 12 screws and nuts needed.
    • Depending on your weight, the strength of the material used and the number of slats, between 4 and 7 per slat side (i.e. 8 to 14 per slat),
    • What works for an 80kg monkey, granted that I don't jump on it : I used the max, 7x2=14 screws on the two back slats, and 6x2=12 screws on the front ones, and it has been holding fine for a few years now.

🧵 PETG/ABS recommended

✔ Can be printed without supports
