Rope bondage spikes | Shibari thorns (round)

Usage

These are designed to be used during rope bondage/shibari to add some extra sensation and fun. The spikes can be added during tying, or ahead of time so the positioning is somewhat random. They can also be used in limb joints or under the feet/body. Similar to a nail bed, the more spikes there are, the less intense it is.

For safety reasons, they should only be used by a single person, as they potentially can penetrate skin, especially if used on the underside of a suspension cuff. Sanitize after use with a method appropriate for your filament (e.g., isopropanol for PLA). Be aware: due to surface defects from 3D printing, microbes may still be present after sanitizing.

Print Instructions

Print with standard settings and supports just under the bottom wedges. Infill of 20% with 3 perimeters of PLA+ seems sufficient for strength. It is designed for two 6 mm bands, so scale up or down if using larger or smaller rope, if desired.
