AMES INSTRUMENTS (Harbor Freight) 12:1 Infrared Laser Thermometer Wall/Pegboard Holder

UPDATE: Added a pegboard version of this mount using Sy's Peglock System design. 

I picked up an AMES Instruments 12:1 infrared temperature gun from Harbor Freight (the $22 model) and couldn't find a stand or holster for it so I designed this one. 

The temp gun grip sits inside the stand upright. 

Up to three medium Command Strips will fit on the back of this side by side and there's a big chamfer on the bottom to hide the Command Strip pull tab. Two is more than enough though.

There's also a slot cut out in the mount so this will still work if you have a loop strap on your handle.

I modeled the grip slot to be a close fit but it should just slide in with minimal play. If the mount flexes at all when you slide the handle in or you just want to adjust the fit then the print can be uniformly scaled in either direction to suit your needs. You can also mirror the print if you want the gun pointing the other way while mounted (it only fits one way).

I printed this as shown without supports in PETG with 2 walls/top/bottom layers with a 0.4mm tip and 15% adaptive cubic infill but this is an easy print so follow your heart.
