Description
I wanted to add LED lighting for the build area of my Tronxy XY-2 Pro. I like the looks and layout of the Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro, and since my Tronxy already has a Creality Sprite Pro extruder, I thought I'd continue its upgrades with the S1 Pro in mind, so I installed a Creality Light Bar kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1GW3FV7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Since the Tronxy uses the same 20mm X 20mm top bar in its gantry design, but is 15mm longer, I decided the easiest way for adapting the kit to my XY-2 Pro was to make this 15mm extension.
This 15mm extension fits between the light bar itself and the left side arm connecting the bar to the frame.
The Creality light bar kit came with a V-Slot extrusion cover for concealing the wiring on the back side of an Ender 3. I found that, having already added a second lead screw and stepper motor to the Tronxy that the slot cover included with the kit was a nearly perfect fit for the Tronxy. I actually had to clip roughly 2mm from the cover to fit that vertical extrusion with the second Z axis stepper motor in place. I added a file to this design, “V-Slot_Cover_209mm_X2.stl” which is a two piece V-Slot cover that will fit a Tronxy XY-2 Pro that hasn't been upgraded with a second Z axis stepper motor.
The 15mm extension prints easily as oriented in the STL using supports to build plate only. The V-Slot_Cover_209mm_X2.stl piece prints as oriented in the STL without any need of supports.
I initially printed the 15mm extension in black PLA, but I thought since the aluminum casing for the bar does get a little warm, I decided to reprint it in the blue PETG I used for the other printable modifications on my Tronxy.
