IMPROVED Parkside-to-Makita LXT Battery Adapter (Standard Connectors, 2 Sizes, Latch & Lid)

Convert your Parkside X20V Team batteries for use in Makita LXT tools with this complete, user-friendly adapter solution.

Unlike other designs, this complete adapter solution is tailored for seamless assembly, enhanced durability, and reliable performance in all Makita tools, including those subject to vibrations, such as chainsaws.

Works great with Makita 18V LXT Battery Extension.

A. Key Features

1. Two Versions:
   • Compact Version: Ideal for general compatibility.
   • Extended Version: Fits Makita tools with narrow slots.
2. Enhanced Usability:
   • Latch: Prevents battery disconnection during vibrations or sudden movements.
   • Lid: Covers and protects wiring for added safety.
3. Standard Connectors:
   • Parkside: 2 spade connectors (see options in “BOM”, Chapter “C”)
   • Makita: 3 x 6.3mm automotive female terminal connectors (925612-1 or DJ6212-E6.3B).
   • Alternate: Quick disconnect connectors (may require adaptation).
4. Improved Design: Unlike other models, this adapter is ready-to-use without requiring custom-cut plates.

B. Printing Details

• Materials: PETG or ASA recommended for durability; Preferably V0 being so close to the connectors. Example: (PETG-V0). PLA is acceptable for light use.
• Nozzle Size: 0.4mm or 0.6mm.
• Layer Height: 0.2mm for precision.
• Supports: Build plate only & Don't support bridges.
• Infill: 20% or higher for strength.

D. Assembly Instructions

• print out the parts according to the instructions

• Push in Latch into its slot on the body, fix with superglue if needed

• Make cabling:
  • Negative poles: 1 x spade connector + 1x 5cm wire (min 1,5mm2) +1 x Female Automotive connector
  • Positive poles:  1 x spade connector + 1x 5cm & 1x 7cm wire (min 1,5mm2) + 2 x Female Automotive connector

• Take the spade connectors and push it into their respective poles on the Parkside side, make sure its sticking out straight. if they dont want to go all the way in I would suggest heating up the spades with a lighter and then push it in. be careful so you don't burn yourself

• Positive: Push in the female automotive connectors in the positive and auxilary pole on the makita side, the connecters hava small lip that you can bend out to assure a proper fit of the connectors.

• Negative: Push in the female automotive connector in the Negative pole on the makita side, the connecters hava small lip that you can bend out to assure a proper fit of the connectors. take the spade connector and push it into the negative pole on the Parkside side, make sure its sticking out straight.

• Optional: Use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape for additional insulation if needed.

• Attach lid to body using the the 2 3x10mm screws, make sure no cable sare squeezed and that the latch can move freely .

E. Adapting the Piggy back connectors:

Using a piggyback connector can help if the spade connectors arent sticking out enough, make sure to try to get the kind without the cutouts in the main female connector for improved rigidity.

• When puching the retention tabls flat try to not only push them flat but also a bit inwards to avoid making the connector too wide which could make it less easy to push it in

• 2024-11-29: Further improvements regarding printability, fit with piggyback connector and assure not possible to connect the Parkside battery to a Makita charger
• 2025-01-19:  Reduced clearance for the Parkside battery for improved fit and added a slot on the Makita "rail" onthe positive pin side to be compatible with more makita tools, some have  a metal pin sticiking out at different distances depending on the tool.
