Description
I don't know what I was doing wrong (probably just the wrong size and too thick of zip ties) but the old zip tie to guide the belt around the corner wasn't working for me. I got fed up and designed this guide. It doesn't make it easy, but this worked pretty well for me. It worked either by feeding the belt into the guide, extending the belt about 10 mm past the end, insert the belt into the corner, press in the end of the guide to squeeze it behind the pulley, and then jiggle/press/pull until its through. The other approach was to put the guide in the corner first and feed the belt through. I printed mine using a few loops of left over PLA but PETG would be more flexible to bend past the pulleys.
Update - I had to replace my belts and used this again. What I found works the best in the back pulley by the motors, which is the hardest to feed through, is to push the guide into the corner, and then feed the belt into it and around the pulley. If I get the guide in the right place, with space between it and the pulley, the belt just feeds through nicely.
