Do you ever wish you could display your most treasured Christmas ornaments for everyone to admire?
Well, my mother-in-law does, so I crafted her this elegant display stand. Designed with love and simplicity, this stand allows your cherished decorations to take center stage !

your most elegant filament (~40g)
1 standard metal paper clip (metal rod thickness ~0.9 mm)
1 M3 x OD5 x L4 (or max M3 x OD5 x L5) brass heat-set insert
1 M3 x 6 mm screw (DIN 912 socket head capscrew used, but other types should fit as well)
Printer settings
Minimum printer bed size required : 220 mm X 220 mm
It just barely fit on my Ender 3 (NG) bed !
0.4mm nozzle, 20-30% infill, min 3 perimeters
PLA filament is recommanded (very low warping and easy printability). My second pick would be PETG (heat resistance and toughness, with limited warping tendency)
Stl files are already in the correct orientation for printing
No support needed
Assembly instructions
Tools required: a soldering iron, pliers and cutting pliers,( a lighter ), superglue, and a screwdriver (type depends on the chosen M3 screw).
Step 1 : Form the metal hook by cutting the paper clip and bending it with pliers so that it roughly matches the shape and size shown below.
Step 2 : Insert the metal hook into the two holes of the printed part and secure it with superglue.
Tip: If you can't insert the two metal ends into the plastic part, use a lighter to warm up those ends (while holding the metal hook with pliers), then try again. It should soften the plastic and help the insertion of the metal hook. Please don't burn yourself. Christmas with burned fingers is not fun!
Step 3: Press the M3 heat-set insert into the “StandLoop” part using a soldering iron.
Step 4: Tighten the M3 screw from the bottom of the “Base” into the M3 heat-set insert.
Step 5: Hang your most treasured Christmas ornament and enjoy!
Tip: if it seems you can find a way to hang your beloved Christmas bauble, try tilting it on the side first ! (see below)
