I'm designing all my models with sketch up - so I'm not the best 3d designer 🥲

You have to print the part once as it is and once mirrored.

I used PETG and it holds up perfect for 2 years now!

the flaps could be bigger, but then I wouldn't be able to print it on my prusa mini.. 

You need to swap the screws to some non-countersunk screws - i took m3 - 12mm screws
