Description
A decorative present for the show. This unique combination of forces makes this structure seem as if it's floating! Hosted up using compression and tension.
The design is inspired by tensegrity
It looks great in one color or two!
Assembly:
There are holes in the model for easier connections, 1 larger string for the black, and 1 smaller string for the red. Suggest tying the middle first then outside. (see below)
Fishing thread or clear string is ideal but mine was mainly tested with sewing thread. Avoid string with stretch as the tension could loosen over time. You'll need some tension in all strings for it to stand on its own.
Print settings:
0.2mm layer height
15% Infill
No supports are required.
Can be Scaled Up or Down as required
Minimum parts required
2 x Main Frame (either or, shorter stubs makes it easier to see the “effect”)
2 x Beam (print on the side for strength/stability) (Longer Beams are easier to work with)
Additional Parts
8 x Corners - there are thicker or thinner ones available, (I prefer thinner)
1x or 2x Bow - larger or smaller bow available. (Prefer one of each but up to you.)
Most things are friction fit, however, depending on the printer it might be required to be printed slightly larger or just use glue.
