Funnel extension rain gauge / tipping bucket (weather station)

Funnel extension for electronic rain gauge, as available at aliexpress, etc. for weather stations (MS-WH-SP-RG).

The model has a groove that fits exactly into the edge of the rain gauge. I have filled this joint with silicone, so that the two parts are firmly connected and watertight. I used white PLA as the material and it still endures well now after almost two years (-10°C to +40°C). To prevent moisture from penetrating in winter and cracking the material in frosty conditions, I also smoothed the inside with silicone.

The extension increases the accuracy to exactly 0.1 l/m². I have compared the annual amount in the meantime with the official weather station in my area and have come to almost exactly the same result.

The extender has a footprint of 150x190 mm >> A = 0,0285 m2 >> 1 tip = 0,100 l/m2
