Description

A framed version of the 3D model “Venus of Willendorf (NHMW-Prae 44.686)” by the Natural History Museum Vienna to add to your wall. There are two options available: you can either use different colors/materials for separate parts or print everything as a single piece.

No MMU required.

🤎 Individual Parts Version🤎

Print each file once. I listed which colors I used for the prints in the pictures.
All printed with the Prusa MK4S and 0.4 nozzle. Print at 100 % to display the original size of the figurine.
Total printing time was 4 h 10 minutes.

File: Venus-Willendorf-NHMW-PRAE-44686-Background_Text.stl
Layer Height: 0.15 mm (or finer)
Infill: 15 % Gyroid
No Supports
Optional:  Add a color change at 1.40 mm (layer 9 for 0.15 layer height) to print the text in another color
1st color:  eSun PLA+ in Black
2nd color: eSun PLA+ in White

Alternative: If you do not want the text on the background use the file “Venus-Willendorf-NHMW-PRAE-44686-Background-noText” instead. The figurine will be positioned more in the middle of the frame in contrast to the text version.

File: Venus-Willendorf-NHMW-PRAE-44686-Frame
Layer Height: 0.2mm (or finer)
Infill: 10 % Gyroid
No Supports - if you struggle with printing overhangs consider adding support to the mouting hole of the frame.
Filament used in pictures: Extrudr Dark Wood (wood filament), use any brown PLA as alternative for a similar look (e.g. Polymaker PolyTerra PLA Army Brown)

File: Venus-Willendorf-NHMW-PRAE-44686-Figurine
Layer Height: 0.15mm (or finer)
Infill: 15 % Gyroid
Add supports in the 2 grooves on the back of the figurine
Filament used in pictures: eSun ePLA Silk Copper

🪛 Assembly

Glue the figurine to the background using appropriate glue in the grooves (I used “Kraftprotz Sekundenkleber 3D Druck”). Use the inner extension of the frame to glue the background to the frame.

Infill: 15 % Gyroid

Printed in 4 h 15 minutes.
