Description
This group of parts implementsCable Management Drag Chains onV1 Engineering MPCNC Primo model. Drag Chains for all three axises are supported.
The following hardware is used:
Note: The Gantry Tube must be longer that the V1 Engineering calculator provides for. As a rule of thumb the Gantry Tube length should be the same as the X/Y Rail lengths or 2.5" longer than the calculator indicates, which ever results in the longest tubes. For X/Y rails of 36" in length, the Gantry rails should also be 35.5 to 36" in length.
Notes:
Print as many Drag Chain Links and Latches as required for the size of MPCNC Table.
Drag Chain Male & Female Ends are required for each axis.
How I Designed This:
General
Drag Chains are implemented in order to provide safe and orderly cable management for all three Axis. Mounts are provided that are inserted over the X & Y gantry tubes and the into RH Z Axis Tube.
Z Axis
The Z Axis Drag Chain consists of two mounts, one on each end of the Gantry Rail that runs parallel to the Y Axis. Stretching between and fastened to the two mounts is a 1 1/2 x 1/4" hardwood strip on which the Z axis Drag Chain is mounted. Secure the drag chain at the Gantry Rail end and in the middle to ensure the chain remains on the wood strip.
Insert Z axis mount into the RH Z Axis vertical tube (as viewed facing the router) and secure the drag chain to the mount using a Male Drag Chain end.
The two mounts are pressed over the Gantry rail at either end of the rail. See Photos.

X Axis
The X Axis Cable Chain mounts to the table bed outside the X1 Axis rail. The truck end is shared with the Z Axis mount and the other end terminates at a point convenient for cable transition to the control board. See above photo.
Y Axis
Only a single Gantry Rail mount is necessary and provided. The allows the Cable Chain to be mounted to the Y Axis Gantry tube. The other end of the Drag Chain is mounted to the Table bed outside the Y1 Rails.
