Description

This is an umbilical mount for the back of the RatRig V-Core 3 or 3.1 that is compatible with Enclosure 1.0 for those few of us who have it :).

I decided to fit my printer with RatRig Printhead 1.0 for the V-Core3.1 and that presented a challenge with the clearance on the back of the frame where the umbilical mount is fastened. The design RatRig did for replacing that part to allow for the low rider RatRig PrintHead was simple but unsuitable for printers fitted with Enclosure 1.0. So I designed this new one. It is split into two piece design to allow for much easier maintenance (no need to mess with wiring to even install it - goes around the existing wiring loom). It is also fitted with a slot for PTFE tube housing a piano wire to hold the umbilical upright. The two 16mm M3 socket head bolts on the side are meant to secure the protruding piano wire in place. The two pieces of the mount are held by two M3x10mm socket heads. Front part wedges into the 3030 extrusion, the back one is secured with a M6x12 countersunk screw paired with a M6 3030 T-nut. Drawback is enclosure 1.0/lid has to come off the printer to install it, but that's not big deal to perform anyways. OG plan was to have 3rd piece to close the front end for more complete looks, but I ended up dropping the idea.

The other hardware needed is 4xM3 4.6x4 brass heat inserts (official RatRig style/size)
