Description
This is a replacement drive hub for Irvine's Value-Line Roller Shade with ¾" tubes. Same part for all spring lengths in this ¾" size.
I don't know the exact technical name for this component, but from the factory its made from a clear polycarbonate material that splits and cracks over a few years period of time.
It is possible to find the entire replacement spring assembly for under $30 online. I've ordered many due to this failed component. But if this is the only part you need to fix it, printing works really well. I think better than original actually. I've had several printed replacements in use for 4 years and all still working well. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to replace in the assembly if you've never done one before.
I've printed this in PC with supports at .1 layer height. At this layer height you'll need to lightly file or sand the shaft and spline V's smooth so the mating splined hub component can slide along the surface. Best results come from resin prints but there is a small screw that threads into the end of the shaft, will need to test and see if the resin can take the screw without cracking.
Attached print file makes 1 part on the Prusa XL using PC and YXPolyer Breakaway-80 support material with 0.1mm layer height.
