Description
I sourced the cliff mesh from megascans (scans of actual cliff) and modelled the joiners in blender
Printed one piece at a time on 2 prusa minis with organic supports, it took about 3.5 days average to print one peice, about 12 weeks of printing time on the mini.
You can see in the photos that it was a bit of trouble for me to print, I had the joiner peices jutting straight out and relied too heavily on supports. I improved the design about halfway through and prints started to get more reliable as I neared the end. Also, there were a few power outages where the print failed, They were salvaged and the remainder was printed and glued together. This happened to about 6 pieces, pretty frustrating…
The cliff pieces were printed in PLA, the dowels were printed with PETG.
It was panted with a mixture of tile grout, pva glue and water, to give e it a stony look, then painted with washes of burnt umber.
Rubber bands stretched over the joiners to hold them together, hair ties would work well too.
Thanks for checking it out, ill post an update when I actually get it installed into the Bearded Dragon enclosure. Please let me know if you have any problems printing it or some ideas that could improve it.
