Why me make:


My printer is on a high table with the spool holder nearly touching the ceiling. This makes it quite difficult to change. Therefore, I designed this, a basic guide for the PTFE tube to be curved around without any sharp points causing stuckness.  I slopped this together in a few minutes, but it looks pretty decent and works as expected.

 

Amazon.com Shopping:

  • FLSUN V400
  • FILAMENT PLA, PETG… not tpu
  • 1.75mm PTFE Tube 30cm length or a slightly larger diameter one for a less friction fit. I used what I had.
  • Double side sticky tape I used some gorilla stuff, I designed base to be same width. THIS IS SOOOO AWESOME! CHECK IT OUT HERE

 

Print settings:

idk, whatever basically.

Supports: NO. (your printer will probably break)

Walls: 2+ ( the more the better as always)

Infill: Doesn't matter

Make sure that the overhang layer time is slow enough and fan is on pretty good so the overhangs turn out good. Printed mine out of super old PLA that's been sitting out. Turned out ok except for a load of stringing.

Approximately <50 grams or less

 

How human must install:

  1. Print it with current spool holder system (duh)
  2. Remove from build plate (obviously)
  3. Remove screws from top (do not screw up on this very crucial step)
  4. Remove top cover
  5. Remove existing PTFE tube
  6. Install longer tube
  7. Replace top cover guiding tube through hole
  8. Replace screws (i lost them all :(
  9. Go search and find the part you just printed
  10. Put sticky tape on bottom
  11. Carefully insert the PTFE tube into the hole in the guide
  12. Slowly push in and keep finger guiding on upper areas
  13. Keep pushing, after comes out other end, pull until guide gets close to machine
  14. Remove thingy from sticky tape
  15. Stick the mount firmly onto top of machine

CONGRATULATIONS! You have now installed the bowden guide.

You no longer have to precariously climb onto a ladder to change filament.

Stay busy, have fun, don't dii, and print more stuff.
