Description
The original design fan is flimsy and gets brittle with age, and when you change a fan belt you have to drag it through the blades and inevitably break a blade or 2.
This model is inspired by the toroidal design that are all the rage. Not only could I make the blade thickness less fragile, it also has the added support at the outer diameter. It has been fitted and working for a few hours now, and doing the job very nicely.
Availability and price of a new replacement where I live, made this a great alternative. Hope others can get some use out of it as well.
Toro part number is 104-2162, and my mower model is a 1638HXL, but it will fit other Toro models. I believe MTD also use the same fan blade, their part number is 931-1449A and Cub Cadet # 731-1449
I printed mine in PETG, but PLA should also work, as it doesn't appear that the fan itself gets too hot.
