This is a simple lamp, which can be placed on a desk or hang on the wall, like a picture.
It requires 1x or 2x 3 segments of 10mm wide RGB LED strip, a RF LED controller, a 12V DC power supply, 5pcs of M3x4x5 heat set inserts and 5pcs of M3x16 DIN912 socket head screws.
The base has two twisted slot, which holds in place the two LED strips. I does not require any other gluing or fixing.
Printing
All the models are already oriented, just drag and drop into the slicer and slice it. It does not require any kind of supports.
I used transparent PETG for the cover and black PETG for the base and the cable clamp, it should work with PLA or ABS/ASA as well.
Assembly
- Put the heat set inserts into the cover and the clamp as shown on the picture. Use a soldering iron for this.
- If you use one strip, just connect the strip to the controller. If you use two strips, use or create a Y connector, this will create a parallel connection of the stips. I used a quick terminal connector for this, cutted the wires around the middle, removed the insulation and soldered the three corresponding wires together.
- Slide in the strips into the twisted slot of the base.
- Put together the power supply, the controller and the LED strips.
- Route the power supply's cable through the slot of the cutout of the base. Make some cable management. There is not so much place inside, but you can use the central hole of the base.
- Fix the power supply's cable with the cable clamp part and 2 pcs of M3x16 screws.
- Put the cover to the assembled base and fix it with 3 pcs of M3x16 screws.
- Place the lamp on a desk or hang it on the wall via the keyhole feature.
- Enjoy! :)
