Description
The rear vent shield is contained in two versions altered for 24V-80mm-fans for enhanced airflow: A lasercut model from acryl and a printable model with reinforced structure. Both can be fitted with 80mm fans to replace the original, tiny fan. The model MF80252V31000UA99 from Sunon can be used for example. For the use of other fans: Stick to 24Volts and less than 2 Watts! Further, an efficiency increasing adapter for Sunon fans and a nozzle to focus the cooling air flow on the hot area of the main board, doubling as a grille to prevent cables from reaching into the blade plane, are included. It is recommended to print all parts from higher temperature plastics to avoid damage in case of overheat. This vent shield modification is fully compatible to my upcoming poop-slide addon.
How to print: Layer height of 0.2mm is good, every part has a flat side, thats all there is to mention.
How to assemble: Thats also self explanatory from how the parts are arranged in the provided picture. Mount the fan to blow inwards and make sure that the polarity of the JST-XH power connector is identical to the original fan. The parts are to be screwed together by 8 standard computer fan bolts.
What to understand: You modify your printer at your own risk. Dont blame any person other than yourself if things go wrong.
